Morgan, Lewis & Bockius has expanded its investment management transactions practice with the additions of Robert D. Goldbaum and Nathan R. Pusey.
Goldbaum and Pusey only joined Paul Hastings in March after departing Paul Weiss. At Morgan Lewis they will represent a wide variety of firms in a full range of asset and wealth management transactions. Both new partners will be based in New York, joining Morgan Lewis’s existing investment management transactions practice and broad-based corporate and securities transactions practice.
Goldbaum will focus on mergers and acquisitions transactions in the investment management industry. He has worked on acquisitions and sales of investment managers, minority investments in traditional and alternative asset management firms, spin-outs and lift-outs of investment management businesses and teams from larger organizations, and capital markets and credit transactions involving asset management firms. Before joining Morgan Lewis, Goldbaum headed the investment management transactions practice at Paul Hastings.
Pusey also focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and restructuring transactions in the investment management industry. He was previously counsel in the investment management transactions practice at Paul Hastings.
“Rob and Nate bring to Morgan Lewis a wealth of knowledge and experience with investment management M&A and capital market and credit transactions,” said firm chair Jami McKeon. “Their highly regarded practice and client roster—coupled with our firm’s existing investment management transactions practice, global platform and deep regulatory experience—establishes a market-leading position from which we will continue to deliver the counsel, market perspective and elite service our clients expect of us.”
