Ogier has hired investment fund lawyer James Bermingham as counsel in the firm’s Luxembourg office.
Bermingham’s practice focuses on the structuring, formation, regulation, operation and tax issues of both regulated and unregulated alternative investment vehicles. He has prior experience at various offshore law firms, including in London, and also served as general counsel of a global asset manager and a private equity administration group. Bermingham is licensed to practice in England and Wales in addition to Luxembourg.
Francois Pfister, practice partner at Ogier in Luxembourg, said, “James’ broad experience and specific expertise in regulatory matters and funds makes him a strong addition to our growing team—in addition, his experience within the Luxembourg legal market going back over the last decade means that he has an in-depth understanding of the issues affecting alternative investment funds and their managers.”
